Nasser Barghi

Dr. Nasser Barghi is Professor and Head of the Division of Aesthetic Dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, at San Antonio, Texas. He has authored and co-authored over 180 articles and abstracts in scientific journals. Dr. Barghi has completed a great amount of research on bonding and etched porcelain bonded restorations, and has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad on the topic of aesthetic dentistry.

Peter Briggs

Peter completed an MSc in conservative dentistry at the Eastman in 1988, and has been clinical lead at St George?s since 1997. Since that time the Maxillo-Facial and Dental Unit has expanded enormously and is now the hub unit for South West London. Peter has published over 40 peer-review papers that have mostly focussed on clinical outcomes. Peter?s clinical interests include surgical and restorative implantology, endodontics, microscopic restorative dentistry and using modern techniques to simplify things that historically were difficult. Peter is known as a down-to-earth and practical dentist and runs his own specialist referral practice near Sevenoaks in North Kent.

Gordon Christensen

Gordon J. Christensen is Founder and Director of Practical Clinical Courses (PCC), an international continuing education organization for dental professionals initiated in 1981, and based in Provo, Utah. For many years, thousands of dentists and dental staff persons have participated in PCC courses, and viewed PCC videos. Dr. Christensen has presented over 45,000 hours of continuing education throughout the world and has published hundreds of articles or books.

Gordon and Rella Christensen, are co-founders of the non-profit Clinical Research Associates (CRA), which Rella directed for many years. Since 1976, CRA has conducted research in all areas of dentistry and published the findings to the profession in the well-known CRA Newsletter. The CRA Newsletter is now read throughout the world in ten languages.

Early in his career, Gordon helped initiate the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado Dental Schools and taught at the University of Washington.

Mervyn Druian

Mervyn Druian was born and educated in South Africa.
With over 30 years of experience in dentistry, Mervyn is a leader, lecturer and innovator in preventive dentistry. He has a special interest in the field of periodontal disease, cosmetic dentistry and treating bad breath. Mervyn is a visiting clinician to the Royal London Dental School, and lectures to Vocational Trainees on finding happiness in dentistry. He is in partnership with Ken Spektor in a highly successful practice in London, which owes much of its inspiration and success to Dr. Omer K. Reed who is both a friend and mentor to the partnership.

Mervyn Druian is founder of the LONDON BREATH CENTRE and the LONDON TOOTH WHITENING CENTRE.

Martin Fulford

Martin Fulford has spent 17 years working as a general dental practitioner in the UK. During this time he managed to combine clinical dentistry with research, mainly in the field of infection control. Martin is active in research and is currently part of a team investigating the possibility of the transmission of vCJD via contaminated dental instruments. Martin is also a scientific adviser, with a particular interest in infection control, to the British Dental Association.

Jimmy Makdissi

Jimmy Makdissi, DDS, PGD (OMFS), MMedSc, FDSRCS (Eng.) DDRRCR joined Queen Mary University of London in November 2004. He obtained his fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999, and he completed his higher training in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Guy?s Hospital in London and obtained the Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists in 2004. Jimmy delivers didactic and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, senior house officers and medical and dental Specialist Registrars. He also teaches on the fellowship and membership programmes at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He sat on the education committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Julian Webber

Dr Julian Webber, BDS, MS, DGDP, FICD qualified from Birmingham Dental School. A recipient of the prestigious Charles Freeman Scholarship of the American Dental Society of Europe, he was the first UK dentist to achieve a Master of Science degree in endodontics (North western University Dental School, Chicago)

Dr Webber has held teaching positions both at Guy?s Hospital and at the Eastman in London, at the same time maintaining a practice limited to endodontics in Harley Street. Dr Webber has written for numerous journals and textbooks on endodontics, and has lectured worldwide.

Dr Webber is the Editor-in-Chief of Endodontic Practice.
