It’s easy to get bogged down by common dental dilemmas. Now, with Dr Briggs’ helping hand, discover how to avoid the pitfalls and rise towards new heights of restorative dentistry!

Join Dr Peter Briggs for his world-class seminar, which will help you to build on your ability to manage potentially disruptive patient and clinical factors and compare and contrast the value of natural teeth with implant-supported restorations. Dr Briggs will also consider the role of fixed prosthodontics and will present evidence that compares the long-term outcome of conventional restorative dentistry with implant treatment. Peter will discuss the key issues dentists face in achieving a healthy mouth as a basis for restorative work:

  • Endodontic skills
  • The provision of good post restorations
  • Achieving successful periodontal results.

Peter will focus on the small steps you can take to optimise success.

    Clinical tips and examples
Learn from Peter as he presents his approach to periodontal care - where the patients are given a greater responsibility for looking after their own oral health. You will determine what medicines to look out for when assessing patients with gingival hyperplasia.

Clinical tips and new ideas will be considered when restoring compromised and worn natural teeth. Peter will present examples of what can happen when complex treatment strategies do not go to plan, why this happens and how it can be avoided. Learn how good static jaw registrations can be achieved, and see an overview of when this is important. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the appropriate clinical use of articulators and their role in treatment planning.

    Case Examples
This seminar will provide a great opportunity for you to learn more from Peter as he offers his insight on the topic of clinical problems, and how these should be best managed. Peter will focus on the dento-legal implications of poor treatment planning and will delve into the matter of decision-making and why it is important to continually invest in improving your clinical skills. There are now many different possible treatment options for each clinical problem. For instance:
  • When is the provision of a ceramic veneer a better idea than bleaching or a direct resin restoration?
  • How would you restore a missing lateral incisor?
  • What is the implication of the expected failure rate of your restorations over time, and how will this affect your patients, yourself and the lawyers?

This quality seminar will explore these questions in depth and reassure you that you are providing the best treatment for your patients. Topics you will cover:
  • Problems faced by dentists in achieving a good foundation of health for teeth, considering the small steps you can take to optimise success
  • Periodontal care
  • Restoration of compromised and worn natural teeth with examples of what can happen when complex treatments go wrong
  • Dento-legal implications of poor treatment planning
  • The importance of decision-making in improving your clinical skills

    Learning objectives:
  • Gaining a better understanding of conventional, adhesive and implant restoration survival
  • Optimising endodontics and the restoration of root-filled teeth
  • Knowing when to use an articulator and take a jaw registration
  • How to minimise failure rates
  • Picking the best option – the important factors: patient views, dentist experience, dentist ability, and cost
  • Clinical tips that optimise quality
  • Update on the clinical literature relating to restorative dentistry.
